Team news:

Australia: Australia is unlikely to make a change to a side that delivered as expected in the first T20I. Although Tye was taken for 47 runs in three overs; Australia will in all likelihood stick to the same XI.

Probable XI: Aaron Finch (c), D’Arcy Short, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Ben McDermott, Alex Carey (wk), Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, Jason Behrendorff, Billy Stanlake

India:

India’s apprehension in playing three spinners; or leaving out an extra batting option in Krunal Pandya meant that Yuzvendra Chahal was left out. He is likely to return into the playing XI.

While Pandya may not be dropped given the extra batting option, Khaleel may have to make way for the legspinner. India could also consider bringing in Washington Sundar for Krunal, who is also a decent bat, in addition to having had proven himself with the new ball to negate Short’s left-handed threat at the top.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan; Virat Kohli (c); KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (wk); Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya/Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar; Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Khaleel Ahmed/Yuzvendra Chahal

Did you know?

Rohit Sharma needs 58 more runs to go past Martin Guptill’s tally of 2271 runs to become the leading run-getter in T20Is.

Jasprit Bumrah is three wickets away from becoming the second Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 50 T20I wickets after R Ashwin (52).

A loss in the second T20I would end India’s run of seven consecutive series victories.
